Human Body - The greatest Yantra or instrument for realisation
“As above so below & As within so without” this ancient maxim deepens my contemplation manifold.
The
following verses from the Shiva Samhita elucidate this very same ancient truth
by drawing parallels between the microcosm (the human body) and the macrocosm
(the universal body). All that we see in the world outside can also be found
within our subtle energy anatomy which is the playground of the Cosmic Shakti
Kundalini. They illustrate through sheer poetry how this body we are born with
can be the greatest Yantra or Tool for realization.

- Shiva Samhita
Explanation
Shiva counsels
the Yogin or aspirant to view the subtle spine within the body as the Meru - The abode of the gods at the centre of the universe.
The seven Chakras are the seven
islands, connected by the Meru.
The Nadis or subtle energy channels
form a network that connect the chakras much like the rivers and oceans of the
external world.
In addition to these one may find
at the various chakras and along the subtle energy path the mountains that are
the guardians of the eight directions. The seers, the rishis and sages. The
stars & planets and all the constellations have their counterpart within
the subtle body. All the Holy places, siddha peethas and their divinity, the
Sun and Moon as well as the prime sources of creation, preservation 7
destruction may all be discovered within the body. The Yogin should view within
the microcosm of their own body the realms of the five core Tattvas or elements
i.e. Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Space and understand that everything that
exists in the macrocosm is present within their own body.
One who understands and experiences
this truth is said to be a Yogin without doubt.
